Wistfully recalling those days of youth spent endlessly watching the Lion King over and over again, idly eating Wotsits and drawing horses with wonky legs. Now I can’t do that legitimately without causing some sort of scene (bloody adulthood), so I have to live my youth vicariously through Youtube.

Oh, hello!

New things in the pipeline, but my wireless oddly keeps disconnecting. Airport’s signal up in the corner just keeps going down to nothing. I’m hoping it’s nothing to do with the beloved macbook pro, it survived a fall off a chest of drawers onto a wooden floor the other day D:

I now have an absolutely massive, posh, expensive poster-printer in the house (alright, it’s not mine), but I plan to design some things for livemessy.com and then you can buy them, if you so wish, when it launches. I have many, many wonderful ideas, some more feasible than others.

In other news, 1000 Awesome Things is entertaining me, and it should you too. I especially like this rather pleasing bear, who represents awesome thing no.699:

Some gorgeous typography from Seb Lester, a type designer and typographic illustrator. Yum.

Whilst browsing, I found an interesting article about work placements on Creative Review. I think they should introduce postgraduate student loans so more people can take advantage of unpaid work placements, because I need to start earning a proper wage now (or continue scrounging of the student loans company). Despite this I’m still applying to do voluntary web jobs for the Cat’s Protection – cats + webdesign = happiness + more work for portfolio.

Publicity

I saw my poster up in USC in town today, which was nice! Hopefully it should be appearing in lots of shops on the Leeds high street to advertise the Charity Ball in aid of Breast Cancer Care. It’s nice to know that my poster is promoting something worthwhile…

It’s sort-of-ready…like me, most days

Welcome to the new-improved version of Suzier Than You.com. I now have Google Analytics, which excites me greatly. I’ve added some portfolio work as well as my CV, they should be appearing in the links section at the top or on the side. By the end of tomorrow I’m hoping to have polished off all the bits and pieces that still need to be edited.

Anyway. Yes. Please do have a look at my wares. I’m quite distressed there doesn’t seem to be a Twitter plugin for Wordpress – but then again, do I really care that much? Is it really necessary to have my latest ‘tweet’ displayed in all its mundanity (ooh, just kind of hoped that word existed, then checked – and apparently it does!) on my sidebar? And speaking of Twitter, isn’t ‘tweet’ one of the most cringe-worthy words you have ever heard, ever? It makes me shudder.

Launching Soon

As the more observant amongst you might have noticed, this is not currently functioning 100%. Cross-browser compatibility issues which have to be resolved, portfolio links which need to be added and a few more bits and pieces. Just in case you thought this was it.
